Swire has been involved in food production and distribution since the 1880s, when it established the Taikoo Sugar Refinery in Hong Kong. Today, group companies play an important role in numerous links in the food chain - from primary production to processing, logistics and distribution.

Swire's tea growing and trading interests date back to 1976, when it took a minority shareholding in James Finlay, one of the world's oldest tea growers. Finlays is now a wholly owned Swire subsidiary, and a leading international supplier of tea, coffee and natural ingredients for the global beverage industry.

Swire has been a Coca-Cola franchisee since the mid-1960s, and soft drink production and distribution is one of the group's core activities. Swire Coca-Cola has the exclusive right to manufacture, market and distribute products of The Coca-Cola Company in 11 provinces and the Shanghai Municipality in the Chinese Mainland and in the Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan region, Vietnam, Cambodia and an extensive area of the western USA. In February 2024, Swire Coca-Cola’s footprint expanded further to include operations in Thailand and Laos.

Swire is also one of the largest operators of cold storage facilities in the USA.

Swire Coca-Cola has the exclusive right to manufacture, market and distribute products of The Coca-Cola Company in 11 provinces and the Shanghai Municipality in the Chinese Mainland and in the HKSAR, Taiwan region, Cambodia, Vietnam and an extensive area of the western USA. This represents a total franchise population of over 870 million people. Swire Coca-Cola is one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, and works closely with The Coca-Cola Company on brand development and marketing.

The relationship with Coca-Cola began in 1965, with the acquisition by Swire of a company which held the franchise to manufacture Coca-Cola in Hong Kong – a business today known as Swire Coca-Cola HK Limited. Swire Pacific acquired the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Salt Lake City in 1978.

Swire Coca-Cola HK Limited

This wholly owned subsidiary of Swire Coca-Cola Limited is the leading soft drink manufacturer in Hong Kong. It employs nearly 1,300 staff, operates 16 production lines, and produces 64 million unit cases annually.

Swire BCD Company Limited

Swire wholly owns Swire BCD, which has controlling interests in Swire's Coca-Cola bottling plants in Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu and Henan.

Swire Coca-Cola Beverages Zhejiang was established in 1987. The company operates a plant at Hangzhou with seven production lines, and (through its subsidiary, Swire Coca-Cola Beverages Wenzhou Limited) operates another plant in Wenzhou with four production lines. Swire is the major shareholder of Swire Coca-Cola Beverages Zhengzhou, which was established in 1995. It operates a production plant at Zhengzhou, and (through its wholly owned subsidiary, Swire Coca-Cola Beverages Luohe Limited) operates an additional plant in Luohe. In total, the company runs ten production lines and has over 2,000 employees, serving more than 95 million consumers within Henan Province.

Xiamen Luquan Industries Company Limited

Swire Pacific acquired a 100% shareholding in Xiamen Luquan Industries in 2006. The company principally manufactures still beverages from the Coca-Cola family of products, including Minute Maid and Ice Dew/ Pure Joy mineralised water. It also manufactures beverage upstream components, including closure, preform and label.

Shanghai Shen-Mei Beverages and Food Company Limited

Located in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the company was established in 1988 and currently operates 12 production lines. It has over 2,100 employees and serves 56 million consumers within the Shanghai Municipality and its neighbouring cities including Jiaxing, Changshu, Nantong, Wuxi and Suzhou. The company is 53.6% owned by Swire.

Swire Coca-Cola, USA

Swire Coca-Cola, USA has six production facilities, serving portions of 13 western states. Its franchise territory extends through parts of Washington in the north to Arizona in the south, and from California in the west to Kansas in the east. The company serves more than 30.6 million consumers.

Swire Coca-Cola, USA produces, distributes and sells many of the world's best known beverages. Its portfolio of brands includes Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dr Pepper and Fanta; Dasani, Glacéau Smartwater and Glacéau Vitaminwater; Monster energy drinks; POWERADE sport drinks, and a variety of coffee, tea, milk and juice brands, including Dunkin Coffee, Honest Tea, Gold Peak Tea, Fuze, Core Power, Minute Maid and Simply.

In August and October 2017, Swire Coca-Cola completed the acquisition of production assets in Arizona and Colorado respectively.

Swire Coca-Cola (Taiwan region), one of Taiwan region's leading soft drink manufacturers, is wholly owned by Swire Coca-Cola. The company’s bottling plant in Taoyuan has a total of six production lines. It has over 800 staff and serves more than 23 million consumers. Key products include Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, Coke Light, Sprite, Fanta, Minute Maid, Real Leaf, Fuze tea, Sokenbicha, Schweppes and Aquarius.

Cambodia Beverage Company Ltd.

Acquired in November 2022, Cambodia Beverage Company Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Swire Coca-Cola. The company currently operates one bottling facility in Cambodia with around 900 employees.

Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Limited

Acquired by Swire Coca-Cola in January 2023, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Limited owns and operates three beverage production facilities, 18 production lines and six distribution centres across Vietnam with a direct and indirect workforce of over 3,500 people.

ThaiNamthip Corporation Ltd. and Lao Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd.

On 9th February 2024, Swire Coca-Cola acquired 39% of the issued share capital of ThaiNamthip Corporation Ltd. (“TNTC”) from The Coca-Cola Export Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company (“TCCC”). TNTC, together with its subsidiary in Laos (Lao Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd.), is principally engaged in the business of manufacturing, distribution and sale of non alcoholic ready to drink beverages bearing trademarks owned by TCCC in Thailand and Laos.

USCS is headquartered in Camden, New Jersey, and operates 38 facilities in 13 states.
