The China Navigation Company is the wholly owned deep-sea shipping arm of John Swire & Sons Limited. Headquartered in Singapore, the company has established representative offices in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Papua New Guinea, the USA and the UK. The company operates a global network of multipurpose liner services, dry bulk, and bulk logistics services through its three business divisions: Swire Shipping, Swire Bulk, and Swire Bulk Logistics.
CNCo owns a diverse fleet of container, multipurpose, general cargo and bulk carrier vessels to service its global trades. These owned vessels are supplemented by chartered-in vessels on a mixture of short, medium and long-term charters to meet the requirements of CNCo's liner business, Swire Shipping, and its handy-size dry bulk carrier business, Swire Bulk. CNCo has scaled up its newbuilding programme in recent years to renew and expand its fleet. Twelve eco-friendly multipurpose vessels and 28 handy-size bulk carriers (including 24 Swire B.Delta39 bulk carriers and four Imabari 38 log-fitted bulk carriers), as well as a 9,000dwt cement carrier were delivered between 2013 and 2016. CNCo currently operates a fleet of 89 container, multipurpose, bulk carrier and cement carrier vessels to service its global trades.
