TrustTomorrow Marine Conservation: Night Safari

Swire Trust’s TrustTomorrow initiative has been supporting the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society in inspiring the public through education and scientific research to appreciate and protect wild birds and their ecological environment. Recently, several Swire employees and their families participated in the society’s Night Safari tour to learn more about local wetland ecology and the traditional ‘gei wai’ operations at Tai Shang Wai and Lut Chau. Led by tour guides from the society, they were able to observe nocturnal creatures such as dragonflies, geckos and fireflies. The Night Safari allows participants to understand the importance of ecological conservation and deepen their understanding of local fishing culture.
