Swire has a long history of educational sponsorship, underlining our belief that giving young people the chance to build a better future for themselves is one of the best ways to give something back to the communities that have helped our businesses to grow and prosper.

Swire Scholarships

Each year, Swire offers various scholarships for students in the wider community as well as to children of our staff. The following is a list of scholarships that are offered by Swire:

1. Scholarships funded by the Swire group in Hong Kong for local students at Hong Kong tertiary institutions
   

   In Hong Kong, the group supports undergraduate students through scholarships for degree and associate degree studies. There are bursaries for students at six local universities:

   • Swire University Scholarship at Baptist University
   • Swire Scholarships at Chinese University of Hong Kong
   • John Donor Scholarships at University of Hong Kong
   • Swire Scholarships at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
   • Swire Scholarships for Degree Programme, Associate Degree Programme and Bursary at City University of Hong Kong
   • Swire Scholarships for Degree Programme, Non-degree Programme and Bursary at Polytechnic University of Hong Kong

2. Swire Postgraduate Scholarships at the University of Hong Kong (for PRC students)
   

   Swire donates various scholarships for PRC post-graduate students studying at HKU, covering their university fees, accommodation fees, and/or monthly stipends. These scholarships include:

   • Swire Doctoral Scholarship for PRC students tenable at Swire Hall, Swire Post - graduate, HKU
   • Swire Postgraduate Scholarship in Master of Common Law at HKU
   • Swire Postgraduate Scholarship in Master of Economics at HKU

3. Swire Scholarships for students studying in the United Kingdom
   

   The Swire Educational Trust sponsors graduate and postgraduate places in the UK for scholars from around the world. Swire has long-standing links with Oxford University and the Trust currently funds scholarships for postgraduate students from Asia to study at St. Antony's and at Nuffield College, as well as an annual postgraduate scholarship to University College for one student from Taiwan. A number of undergraduate places at University College are also provided for Hong Kong A-level students. The Swire Educational Trust offers two scholarships annually at Oxford for students from Mainland China. It also funds three places at UK universities for children of Swire staff in Hong Kong.

4. Swire Scholarships for children of Hong Kong employees
   

   A range of scholarships from secondary up to university level is provided for children of group employees. The scheme remains popular with employees.
