John Swire & Sons Ltd. established a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in 1993 and a branch office in Hanoi in 1994. The company coordinates a growing list of Swire interests in Vietnam, including the manufacture of aluminium cans, airline catering and cold storage, and assists with the supply of Swire Pacific Offshore vessels to the oil industry in the port city of Vung Tau.

• Swire Cold Storage Vietnam Ltd. (SCS)
  This company is the most modern and largest refrigerated warehouse in Vietnam. Opened in 1998 with 4,500 pallet positions, SCS now offers 19,000 pallet positions in 12 different rooms. Each room has the refrigeration capability to operate between -25 and +15 degrees celsius. SCS plays an important logistics role in the growing seafood export industry in Vietnam, but also provides storage services for cigarettes, paper documents, imported ice cream, meat and dairy products. In conjunction with major international banks, SCS offers a collateral finance and management service for imported seafood products, and is the only customs bonded warehouse for frozen product in Vietnam. SCS Vietnam is a proud part of the Swire group's growing network of refrigerated warehouses in Australia, the USA and Sri Lanka.

• CROWN Beverage Cans Hanoi Ltd.
  This company, located in the north of Vietnam, is a joint venture between Swire Pacific (38%), Crown Holdings Inc. of the USA and two Vietnamese companies, Vietnam National Foodstuffs Import & Export Corp and Union Foodstuffs Co.

  Its production facility is capable of producing two-piece aluminium beverage cans of 330 ml, 355 ml and 250 ml sizes. The company has recently successfully converted international brands from three-piece steel to two-piece aluminium cans.

• VN/CX Catering Services Ltd.
  Cathay Pacific Catering Services has a 40% shareholding in this joint venture with Vietnam Airlines. The company has a daily capacity of 20,000 meals, and serves some 18 airlines.
