Marine Services Division

  • Swire Pacific Offshore Holdings Ltd. (SPO)
This wholly owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific plays a major role in supporting the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide.

Swire Pacific Offshore has one of the largest and most modern offshore energy support fleets in the world, supporting the entire spectrum of exploration and production activities. The company's fleet of over 70 vessels includes Anchor Handling Tug Supply boats, Platform Supply Vessels, as well as specialised hydrographic and seismic survey vessels, and vessels for maintenance, dive, and ROV (remotely operated vehicle) support. As part of the company's continued fleet development programme, around 20 new buildings are currently on order or under construction. SPO's vessels regularly undertake salvage operations, as well as cable-lay and offshore construction support.

Headquartered in Singapore, with regional offices in Australia, Azerbaijan, Brunei, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Qatar, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates, SPO operates vessels in every major oil exploration region outside of North America.

SPO owns a 50% shareholding in Prisco Swire Offshore Pte Ltd., which operates three ice-class Platform Supply Vessels in Sakhalin, in the Russian Far East.

SPO established its Survey Services Division following the acquisition of the business and assets of the Salvin group in August 2007. Prior to the acquisition, the Salvin group had interests in marine seismic surveys, ship broking, ship management and marine consulting. The newly formed survey Services Division is focused on providing marine survey services for geological exploration. Its regional hub is in Singapore, with access to local warehouse storage facilities for seismic compressors and related equipment.

  • Swire Production Solutions
Wholly owned SPO subsidiary Swire Production Solutions designs, builds and operates production systems for the offshore oil and gas industry. These include Floating Production Storage Offloading vessels (FPSOs) based on converted tankers for long-term field development, Mobile Production Units (MOPUs) using jack up rigs, and Floating Production Units (FPUs), based on offshore support vessels, for temporary production, marginal field appraisal and extended well tests.

  • Swire Ocean Salvage (Pte.) Ltd. (SOS)
SOS is a 50:50 joint venture between SPO and Athens-based Five Oceans Salvage Consultants Ltd. offering cutting edge salvage, wreck removal and emergency towage services to ship owning and insurance interests across the world. SOS has the capability to mobilise modern and dedicated salvage equipment based in warehouses in Singapore, Dubai, West Africa and Greece to respond to all types of marine casualty.

  • Offshore Solutions
Offshore Solutions was originally formed in 2000 and is a partnership between three New Zealand companies: Seaworks Limited, ETL Group Limited and Swire Pacific Offshore NZ Limited.

The partnership was established in response to a client request for an integrated package of marine and logistical services to support their offshore operations out of New Plymouth. The partnering companies had extensive experience in this role with this client and had been working with the client since 1998. The decision to move into a formal partnership was seen as a natural progression, enabling the client to form a long-term alliance with partners who were familiar with their needs and with whom proven relationships already existed.

  • Swire Pacific Ship Management Ltd. (SPSM)
Swire Pacific Ship Management Ltd. provides fleet personnel services to Swire's subsidiary and associate marine interests. This includes full manning services for The China Navigation Co.'s multi-purpose, container and bulk carrier fleet, as well as for Swire Pacific Offshore and Swire Production Solutions and for the seagoing and harbour tugs owned by HUD Marine.

Equipped with travelling cranes of up to 70 tonnes lifting capacity and other advanced ship repair infrastructure, the dock has direct access to shore and to the yard's extensive workshop facilities. The division's harbour repair department also offers round-theclock routine and emergency repairs and maintenance to all types of vessels afloat at berths, at buoys or at anchor.

    • HUD Marine

HUD Marine owns and operates 15 tugs totaling 55,200 BHP, and with an average age of just under seven years. HUD Marine's largest ocean-going tugs provide up to 56 tonnes bollard pull and are fully equipped for salvage and fire-fighting duties.

Services include 24-hour harbour berthing, ocean towage and worldwide chartering in the Asia Pacific Region and the Arabian Gulf on both short and long-term contracts, as well as harbour deployments.
